KSirtet is a Tetris clone for KDE, with an exciting multiplayer mode.

After you started the program, you can push the start button to start playing a game. Now you are playing in normal mode with only one player. The purpose of the game is to fit the many falling pieces to form full lines. You can move the many falling pieces to the left and to the right and also rotate them. When you have formed a full line it will be removed. The game ends when a piece reaches the top of the board, because at that point you can not add anymore pieces.
Via the menu Settings->Configure KSirtet you can configure some things. A Configure dialog will open. Under the section game you can for example set the level which you will play at startup: the higher the level the quicker the falling pieces will drop down .
Under Appearance you can make sure that the falling pieces will show their shadow at the bottom of the board (or not) and if next piece is to be shown. Furthermore you can adjust the fade strength of the board and if you want to enable animations.
Finally we have the section A.I.. The translator suspects this is stands for "Artificial Intelligence" because this part is meant to determine the strength of the oponent in games you play with the computer. The current KSirtet manual doesn't mention anything about A.I. which is a pity because the translator can imagine very little with this option.
When you want to compete with other KSirtet players around the world, then select Settings->Configure Highscores and fill in your nickname and some comment. The information you give here will be used for the list with highscores on the KSirtet website.
In the normal mode for one player the pieces will fall down untill they reach the top of the board. Every time you have destroyed 10 lines, you advance to the next level. There is also an Arcade mode for one player. There you start a new level after a certain amount of pieces. The board will be empty but can be filled with certain pieces. Also in the Arcade mode the speed at which the pieces are dropping will increase at every level.
It becomes even more interesting when you use the multiplayer mode, where you can play against a computer or a human oponent.
In the Mode menu you have the option More.... First determine if you want to play a local game or that you want to start a network game.
Whatever mode you choose, the next dialog will always ask you for names about the players. Four players can participate and the computer also fancies a nice game.
KSirtet will show the different boards next to each other. The keep some overview you would do best to choose a high screen resolution.
When you play with several players, you do not only need to watch falling pieces: you will also get an incomplete line of your oponent on your board every time when he/she manages to remove 2 lines. The same goes off course the other way around: if you succeed in removing 2 lines you will hinder the oponent by giving him/her incomplete lines...
Have Fun!
